Holiday Intensive Training – FIT in German
The Holiday Intensive Training – FIT in German is an intensive holiday programme for language support aimed at children and young people. The goal is to strengthen German language skills in a playful, hands-on way and without the pressure of school. The programme complements regular school-based support and takes place during the Easter, summer and autumn holidays. As an organisation based in Witten, Lernimpuls Witten e. V. successfully carried out the project last year. Participants learned German not only in the classroom, but above all in everyday life: through shared activities, movement, games and exciting excursions. These included, among other things, visits to Movie Park and various museums such as the Zeche Nachtigall, as well as an excursion to Hohenstein Castle in Witten. In these authentic situations, new words and language structures could be applied and consolidated directly. The support takes place in small, linguistically mixed groups and is supplemented by digital learning offerings. A shared breakfast and lunch are also part of the daily routine and strengthen the sense of community. FIT in German combines learning, experiencing and community – for greater confidence in using the German language and more self-assurance in everyday life.
