Bridge Project 2019
In 2019, the „Bridge Project“ – a playgroup for refugee children aged 3 to 6 – was successfully carried out. The groups consisted of up to 20 children, with the age structure kept flexible. The focus was on language support and preparing the children for kindergarten. The aim was to bring the German language closer to the children and to offer them a safe and supportive environment.
Care hours ran from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 14:00. Daily activities such as creative games and movement exercises fostered both the fine and gross motor skills of the children and strengthened their language abilities.
Parents were encouraged to bring along healthy, child-appropriate snacks. Close cooperation between the carers and the parents was especially important to us in order to ensure a successful settling-in of the children into the group. Regular conversations about the development of each individual child helped to support the children in the best possible way.
The pedagogical work in 2019 focused on the individual support of the children. Guided by the principle „Help me to do it myself“, the children were accompanied on their path toward greater independence and supported in the development of their social and language skills.
