Bridge Project 2022
In 2022, the playgroup was successfully run for refugee children aged 3 to 6 years. The group was made up of up to 20 children, with the age structure organised flexibly. A particular focus lay on language support and preparing the children for kindergarten, the main goal being to introduce the children to the German language and to offer them a safe and secure environment.
The care hours were Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 14:00. The association's premises, centrally located in Witten, offered the children ample space for a wide range of activities. The daily offerings included games, creative activities and movement exercises that fostered both fine and gross motor skills.
Parents were encouraged to provide healthy, child-friendly snacks, and great importance was placed on close cooperation between the carers and the parents. Regular conversations and an open exchange about the children's development helped ensure that the children were well integrated into the group.
The pedagogical work focused on the individual support of the children, who were supported both in their independence and in their social and linguistic development. With particular attention to the principle „Help me to do it myself“, the carers accompanied the children on their path towards greater independence and a successful start in kindergarten.
