Bridge Project 2023

In 2023, our playgroup was successfully continued and offered refugee children aged 3 to 6 from various circumstances comprehensive care. The care focused on promoting the German language, preparing the children for kindergarten, and supporting cultural and social integration.

Based on feedback from the parents, the care hours were extended to 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in order to better meet the needs of the families, particularly with regard to language support and professional requirements. This allowed us to respond to the rising demand and to offer the children a more stable structure.

The premises available to us in Witten were ideally suited to creating a positive learning environment. Both the room for shared play and creative activities and the quiet room for the midday period were well used.

Through close cooperation with the parents and regular conversations about the development of each individual child, we were able to ensure that every child received the support it needed. In addition, we maintained contacts with various local organizations and institutions in order to help the children and their families with integration and the transition into kindergarten.

The pedagogical concept was based on a respectful approach to the individuality of each child. It was especially important to us to instil independence in the children, to strengthen their social skills, and to support their development through creative activities and language support.
