In 2023, we further expanded our integration services and specifically addressed the needs of refugees and migrants in our community. A particular focus was on the intensive use of our association's premises. In addition to the teaching rooms, the foyer and the kitchen were also used regularly, and the technical equipment, such as smartboards and laptops, supported us in our work with refugees and migrants.

The high demand for in-person meetings, especially in our children's and youth groups, posed a particular challenge. However, we succeeded in significantly expanding our leisure programme for children and young people through the dedicated involvement of our volunteers. In the joint meetings, not only were various topics discussed, but numerous leisure activities also took place, which fostered social cohesion.

The further development of our volunteers was also of great importance to us. Through targeted training in areas such as digital communication, intercultural competence and democratic understanding, we were able to further improve the quality of our work. The positive feedback and the sharing of experiences between the volunteers and the management led to valuable impulses that were put into practice.

Despite staff shortages, we managed to implement the planned components and successfully continue our integration work. Looking back, we reflect on a challenging but very positive year in which we were able to offer valuable support to many refugees and migrants.
