Memorial Trip Poland: „Never Again“
Guided by the principle “Never again”, we at Lernimpuls Witten e.V. set out together with a group of interested young people for Kraków, in order to raise awareness of antisemitism, racism and all forms of discrimination.

Our memorial trip to Poland took place from 01.04.2023 to 05.04.2023 and involved a total of 10 participants as well as two supervisors. With special guided tours through Kraków's former Jewish quarter, visits to synagogues, the Schindler Museum and the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp, we had an extensive programme that enabled all participants to engage intensively with the historical events and individual fates.
Throughout the entire journey there was a lively exchange among the participants. In addition to many conversations about their thoughts and feelings, they also kept travel diaries in order to process their impressions in writing. They also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Kraków and to get to know Polish culture and cuisine.
The memorial trip to Kraków was an extremely moving experience for all participants. The realisation that such terrible crimes must never happen again has left a deep impression on us. We very much hope that trips like this create memories that inspire the participants to actively stand up against hatred and prejudice and to shape a better future. This special project was funded by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen Lippe (LWL).
