„Robotics, Building Connects“ A Project for Children and Young People in Disadvantaged Situations
Our project “Robotics, Building Connects” was launched to give children and young people in disadvantaged situations hands-on experience in the fields of robotics and programming, thereby opening up opportunities for them that often remain out of reach.

By forming two groups of 10 participants each, we were able to ensure intensive supervision and individual support for the children and young people. The content of the project was based on the playful construction and programming of robots using the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 building set, as well as the Fischertechnik Green Energy construction kit. The pupils were thrilled with the robots they had built and programmed themselves. The participants' digital and technical skills were fostered, their imagination was stimulated, and their teamwork abilities were strengthened through group work. Developing them together created not only robots, but also new friendships.
All in all, we are proud to have conveyed, through our project, a positive attitude toward one's own personal development in an increasingly digital world. We hope to be able to continue this successful project in the future as well, and to open the doors to new opportunities for even more children and young people. The realization of this project was made possible for us through the funding of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen Lippe (LWL).
