Preparation „Together for Girls: Finnland and Deutschland in Dialogue“
As part of the project „Together for Girls: Finland and Germany in Dialogue“, intensive preparatory activities took place that were intended to enable the successful exchange of young people from both countries in the summer/autumn of 2024. During a six-day planning visit to Helsinki and Oulu, the German group leaders met with their Finnish colleagues to exchange ideas in depth and jointly lay the foundation for the upcoming youth exchange.
The visit included a wide range of workshops and discussions on central topics of youth work and the empowerment of girls. For example, future skills were developed that young people need in order to actively help shape the society of tomorrow. Particular emphasis was also placed on the empowerment of girls and young women as well as on participatory methods and communication tools that enable inclusive and sustainable cooperation.
In addition to the substantive preparation, the participants had the opportunity to become familiar with the Finnish way of life in Helsinki and Oulu. During city tours and joint activities, not only the country but also mutual understanding and cooperation were strengthened. At the end of the activity, a solid foundation had been laid for the planned youth exchange, one that was intended to guarantee a high-quality implementation of the project in the coming year.
