„Be a Part of Us, Get Involved!“
From 15 July 2021 to 23 December 2021, our project began, bringing together young people aged 10 to 21 from the region to work together on exciting topics and to develop their creative ideas. The goal was to encourage a colourful mix of young people – regardless of gender, origin or social background – and to motivate them to actively participate in shaping their environment.
The project consisted of four groups, which were accompanied by dedicated mentors. Each group had the opportunity to organise itself and to choose topics that were of particular interest to them. These topics were not only dealt with theoretically, but also implemented creatively – whether through collages, short reports or little theatre pieces. A special highlight were the excursions, during which the young people could experience what they had learned in reality, for example during visits to the children's and youth parliament or to a waste transfer station.
In addition to the content-related activities, leisure activities such as day trips and a 4-day workshop at the youth hostel were also on the programme. Here the participants could not only exchange their experiences, but also develop their ideas further and strengthen their commitment to a better future.
At the end of the project, the groups presented their results at a large closing event, at which network partners and organisations that advocate for the engagement of young people also had their say.
Our project was more than just a learning and creative project – it was an opportunity to take on responsibility oneself, to help shape things, and to experience how much influence young people can have on their future.
